THE FREE CITY LIGHTS PROGRAM AT ILLUMINATE ADELAIDE 2024

Grand Mix by INOOK (FRANCE)

Art Gallery of South Australia

Brace yourself for a time-travelling extravaganza as the Art Gallery of South Australia’s upcoming Reimagining the Renaissance exhibition (opens 20 July) bursts forth from its confines! Prepare to party like it’s 1599, as some of the gallery’s masterpieces have made a daring escape, demanding to be heard and celebrated on the grandest of stages.

In a stroke of artistic genius, the French immersive artists of INOOK have conjured a Renaissance choir like no other. Harnessing the power of AI technology, they have plucked faces from the exhibition’s works, breathing new life into them and creating an entirely novel form of art.

Get ready to sing and dance along to contemporary pop hits, but with a twist that transcends time itself. Familiar melodies will intertwine with the visages of bygone eras, creating a harmonious fusion of past and present that will leave you spellbound.

Whether you’re a lover of art, music, or simply seeking an unforgettable experience, this Renaissance revelry promises to transport you to a realm where boundaries blur, and creativity knows no limits. Embrace the escapade and let the echoes of history mingle with the rhythms of today, creating a symphony that will resonate through the ages.

Adelaide is just the latest city to get the Grand Mix experience, with Inook having already transformed Rijks Museum Amsterdam, the museums of Torun in Poland, the Fine Arts Museum in Lyon and many other sites.
