BELGIAN NATIONAL DAY 2023 IN ADELAIDE
Belgian Beer Café Oostende is celebrating Belgian National Day 2023 for the whole of the week from today, 17th July through to Sunday 23rd July. They will have:
- daily Belgian style raffles – you just need to be in the venue and purchase a full priced meal or Belgian beer to enter. Prizes include a range of Belgian Beers, Belgian chocolates, venue vouches, selected wines. The raffles are drawn at 9:30pm everyday
- Belgian hot chocolates with every dessert over the week
- mussel eating competition (FREE) – all competitors go into a grand Prize
- Belgian Chefs Specials
- tasting paddles for $25
BELGIAN NATIONAL DAY 2023 IN BRISBANE
The Ambassador and the Honorary Consul of Belgium invites the Belgian community in Brisbane to an informal reception with its Queensland affiliates, to celebrate Belgian National Day 2023.
The chosen venue overlooks the iconic Story Bridge, which will be lit up in the Belgian national colours for the occasion. Please note: Dress code is smart casual and this is an 18+ event.

Saccharomyces Beer Café – Belgian Beer Week 17-24 July
Belgian Beer Week is returning to Saccharomyces Beer Café for its second year, bigger, bolder and with even more Belge!
Across eight free and ticketed events, get down the lane to experience over 35 different Belgian beers on tap, a heap of limited bottle pour brews and an extensive menu of Belgian inspired food.
Running from July 17 to 24, the week kicks off with a low-key movie night and culminates in a weekend-long party. Check out the events below:
BLIND BELGIANS (TASTING): Monday July 17 to Wednesday July 18
From Monday to Wednesday, they will have four beers of a particular Belgian beer styles tapped, but not identifiable. One will be from an Australian brewery, three will be Belgian breweries. Your task is to correctly identify each beer to its brewery. Monday they will do Saisons, Tuesday will be Witbiers and Wednesday they are bringing out the big guns: the Quadruples.
BURGUNDIES OF BELGIUM: Monday July 17
Ease into Belgian Beer Week with some classic brews and a classic show. They will be screening episode 5 of The Beer Hunter: Burgundies of Belgium. There will be EIGHT of the beers featured on tap and Sacch kitchen will launch its Belgian Beer Week menu.
QUADS AND CHEESE: Tuesday July 18
Come try some old beer and old cheese! Well, appropriately aged beer and cheese. They have three vintages St Bernardus ABT 12 to try side by side along with three different aged cheeses from The Cheeseboard in Albion.
CHERRY ON TOP: Thursday July 20
They love the fact the Belgians threw anything and everything into their brews. Cherry on Top is all about those fruity brews. Come down to experience eleven different fruited Belgian brews.
BELGIAN DAY (I MEAN WEEKEND): Friday July 21 to Sunday July 23
A big ol’ weekend celebration of Belgian beer. Each day will feature 13 different Belgian beers on tap each day, a heap of bottle pours and Sacch kitchen’s special Belgian Beer Week menu.
KLIEKJE & LE RESTES: Monday July 24
Phew! What a week! Kliekje is Flemish for leftovers. Le Restes is French for leftovers. Drink the dregs is bar for leftovers. They reckon a fair chunk of kegs will tap out, but there’ll be a couple of goodies left. They will let you know!
BELGIAN NATIONAL DAY 2023 ON THE GOLD COAST
Madocke Beer Brewing Company is celebrating Belgian National Day 2023 with its annual BelgFest from 20 to 23 July 2023.
They’re holding a 4 day party to celebrate. You can expect:
- its new Beer Release
- Belgian-inspired food specials
- Live music gigs with:
- * The Wayward Suns (Saturday)
- * Senina (Saturday)
- * Peppington (Sunday)
- * Jade Soul (Sunday)
- * Lovessel (Sunday)

BELGIAN NATIONAL DAY 2023 IN LATROBE, TAS
While not an event specifically for Belgian National Day 2023, but rather part of Tasmania’s “off Season” promotion, you can do this tour on 21 July to celebrate Belgian National Day.
For $49.95 per person, Igor Van Gerwen, the maestro of chocolate at Anvers Tasmania, will lead you on a one-on-one experience featuring stories of cacao hunting, and a brief guided chocolate tasting. BELGIAN NATIONAL DAY 2023 IN MELBOURNE
Belgian Beer Café Melbourne is celebrating Belgian National Day 2023 on Friday and through the entire weekend with a focus on great – and rare – Belgian beer.
In addition to their already impressive range of Belgian, local, and international beers, Belgian Beer Café Melbourne will feature 7 Belgian beers rarely seen on tap and one that is a nationwide exclusive to their venue: Kazematten Tremist Saison. There will also be value Stella on tap and Stoovlees all weekend.
And a special Belgian Beer Lovers hamper will be drawn by raffle on each of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Bookings for dinner are always advisable but they do accept walk-ins, of course, when space is available.

Belgian Club of Western Australia – Sunday 30 July 2023,12pm – 4pm
Members of the BCWA are invited to attend the yearly Belgian National Day Lunch at Bayswater Tennis Club.
This year, they will cook up a ‘Breugheltafel’ with:
- Belgian style nibbles for starters
- Belgian Witlof soup (with smoked salmon) and tomato soup (with little meatballs)
- Belgian meatloaf, chicken drumsticks, pork roast, black pudding, potato gratin, home baked bread, veggies and sauces
- Dessert buffet with rice pudding, vanilla pudding with speculoos, creme au beure cake and apple cake.
If you have any dietary concerns, please let them know so they can try to accommodate you.
The food will be served buffet style. Beers and other beverages can be purchased at the bar. Please note ‘No BYO’, but as they don’t have Belgian beer glasses, so Bring Your own Glass.
There will also be their usual raffle with Belgian prizes – many goodies from overseas! All proceeds from the raffle go towards the organisation of our events.
The price for the lunch is $50 per adult and per child $20 (3-12 years). Kids under the age of 3 are free of charge.
