The Erstwilder Paris Holiday collection from the Melbourne-based brand is launching at 12:30pm Melbourne time today and we want everything! If you’re a Francophile you will too!
The limited edition (all Erstwilder pieces have limited runs so once they’re gone, they’re gone) Paris Holiday collection is comprised of layered resin brooches, enamel pins, earrings, scarves and some seriously cute berets adorned with French emblematic symbols. Whether it be the iconic croissant, a chic French poodle or a Parisian monument, the Paris Holiday collection has you covered and adorned.
Paris monuments given homage in brooch form include the Eiffel Tower, Cathedral of Notre Dame, and the Moulin Rouge’s iconic red windmill. Nods are also given to the Can-can dancers of Paris and the whimsical Trocadero carousel horse. There’s also the old-fashioned style of perfume bottle
The French woman complete with beret and neck scarf is immortalised in brooch form also. Le Chat noir becomes a cultured cat sitting a top a pile of iconic French books. You can’t have a French collection without a French poodle and you’ll find the Madame Caniche on brooches, earrings, scarves and berets.
Inspiration is taken from and a nod given to Marie Antoinette with various pieces including a brooch of Marie Antoinette and various heart shaped pieces named Heart of Caché.
Show your love of macarons, croissants, eclairs and wine with a choice of earrings, brooches and scarves. Or wear them all on a beret embroidered with them.
Who are Erstwilder?
A Melbourne based label which celebrated its 10th birthday last year, Erstwilder designs and produces collectible layered resin adornments – mainly in the form of brooches. Inspiration comes from many places from animals to vintage and rockabilly and art deco.
Where are the pieces made?
Erstwilder has been working with the same family-owned, ethical manufacturer in China since their beginnings in 2011.
What are the pieces made from?
Erstiwilder’s designs use silver-plated steel brooch pins. Earring posts, earring hooks, necklace chains and jump rings are made from stainless steel.
How much do they cost?
The Erstwilder Paris Holiday collection prices are as follows:
- Earrings: $10 each for the Eiffel tower, champagne bottles and poodles; or $34.95 for the macaron, croissant and heart of cache earrings
- Enamel brooches: $14.95 or the set of 12 for $120
- Scarves for $24.95 and $39.95 depending on the size
- Layered resin brooches: $44.95
- Berets $74.95
How many of each piece?
To avoid waste and keep things limited, Erstwilder only produce a limited number of each piece – at most 3,000 of each piece but this varies depending on which styles Erstwilder thinks will be most popular. So, get in quickly if you spot something you adore.
Love the brooches but not into wearing brooches?
Ertswilder also sell brooch converters which allow you to take the brooch and turn it into a pendant to attach to a necklace chain.
