Where to celebrate Valentine’s Day French style

Valentine’s Day is next week. How are you celebrating it?

Here’s a list of French places to celebrate the day around Australia.

Valentine’s Day in Adelaide

 

Bistro France will only be open for lunch on the day but their usual menu will be available.

Floating Melodies: Chansons d’Amour 

A pairing of South Australian food and wine with French songs sung by Panaché, Adelaide’s French theatre troupe aboard the Popeye.

Hey Jupiter is taking reservations all day long and will be doing its champagne breakfast until 11:30 as per usual. They will also be doing 2 glasses of Louis Roederer for $35 all day long.

La Bonne Table 4 course menu for $69 per person.

La Provence 5 course menu including d’Andre Delorme Blanc de Blanc for $98 per person.

Valentine’s Day in Brisbane

 

French Martini, Southbank will have a 3 course menu for $69 per person with 3 options including a vegetarian one for each course. For the entrées St Jacques, cauliflower soup or chèvre ravioli. For the mains: pork belly, fish or prawns and a vegetarian option. For dessert: Crème Brûlée, a hot chocolate tart or l’Isle Flottant with strawberry marmalade.

French music will be played on the night and a glass of bubbles offered on arrival.

Greenglass is doing 3 courses for $50 each or $60 each with a glass of sparkling wine and an appetiser on arrival. The menu wasn’t available at the time of publication.

Lutece Bistro will be offering a 3 course menu for $130 which includes a glass of champagne on arrival and live music.

Sprout BYO is doing a 3 course dinner with a glass of Moutard Champagne Brut and a box of macarons for $95 per person.

Spanner Crab panna Cotta with  Avocado Guacamole & Lemon Myrtle OR
Tasmanian Fresh Oyster with Apple Vinegar Shallot OR
Terrine Foie gras & Smoked Ham terrine with Homemade Chutney & Brioche

Main course:

Grilled Lamb Rump with Green Pepper Creamy Sauce with Dauphinois Potatoes OR
Slow Cook Duck Confit with Orange & armagnac Sauce et mashed potatoes OR
Crust Barramundi with Lemon & Lime Syrup

Dessert:

White Chocolate  & coconut Raffaello, Raspberry Coulis & Vanilla Ice Cream OR
Bourbon vanilla Crème Brulée, Mango Sorbet & Macaron OR
Vintage Cheddar, Brie de Meaux & Gorgonzola, Biscuit and Walnut & Fig Jam

Valentine’s Day in Canberra

 

 

Buvette is doing 3 courses for $90 per person plus a glass of champagne and a canapé on arrival.

 

Valentine’s Day in Darwin

 

 

The Pearl Restaurant is doing a 4 course dégustation menu for $80 per person or with matching wines for $119 per person.

 

Valentine’s Day in Melbourne

 

A La Bouffe will have a 3 course menu with complimentary coffee and chocolate truffles for $125.

Bergerac Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and will have their usual menu. They are doing two dinner services: one at 6pm and the other at 8pm. The kitchen will be open until 10:30pm.

Bon Ap’ are doing a 3 course menu for $65 per person

Chez Olivier will have a  4 course menu for $99 per person.

Entrecôte, South Yarra will have a 4 course menu for $99.90 per person or $149 per person with a glass of Perrier-Jouet Belle Époque and a table with a view over the Botanic Gardens. Reserve here.

The French Brasserie will have a 3 course menu for $95 per person with a Kir Royale on arrival but also a 7 course dégustation for $150 per person. Vegetarians haven’t been forgotten either. You can also add matching wines for $50. Reservations a must.

Le Petit Gâteau are doing a special cake for the occasion made of  lychee, white rum and coconut. Pre-orders by telephone: (03) 9944 8893. 

Ôter will have both a set menu for $95 per person as well as their usual menu. The set menu isn’t yet finalised as the menu is planned around the fresh seasonal produce available on the day.

Philippe will have their usual menu but will also have special offers on the night such as a seafood platter for 2.

Small French Bar will have 5 course menu with a glass of champagne for $140 per couple.

 

Valentine’s Day in Perth

 

Chez Pierre are doing a set menu for lunch for $65 per person and $100 for dinner.

Petite Mort is putting together a dégustation menu for $150 with roses and sparkling wine. The details of the menu weren’t available at the time of publication.

P’tit Ardoise Bistro will have a 3 course menu with vegetarian options available for $99 per person. Reservations compulsory.

Restaurant l’Hermitage Claremont will be doing 2 courses for $45 each or 3 courses for  $55 each. Matching wines from $20 per person. Menu details were not available at the time of publication.

The Bistrot Café will offer a glass of champagne and chocolate strawberries with each meal. Their usual menu will be available.

 

Valentine’s Day in Sydney

 

Bistro Cocotte will have a 4 course dégustation menu for $89 or with matching wines for an additional $45 per person.

Bistro Guillaume Sydney will have a 6 course menu a glass of champagne on arrival for $150 per person. You must reserve.

Bistro Papillon will have a 5 course menu for $105 per person.

Bistro Rex is doing a 6 course dégustation menu  for $85 per person.

Bitton Alexandria and Oatley is doing a dinner and opera night for $85 per person.

Brasserie L’Entrecôte is doing a 4 course menu for $95 per person.

Bronte Road Bistro is doing a 4 course menu for $100 per person.

Eté will have their usual menu. They suggest the Assiette Mignardise which is a sharing plate of many different desserts for 2 which is $38.  

Felix – is doing a 4 course menu with a glass of champagne for $150 per person. The menu was not available at the time of publication.

Ganache Patisserie will be making 2 special cakes for the day and heart-shaped macarons with Ganache. Prices were not available at the time of publication.

Le Petit Flot$165 per couple including a bottle of wine:

Starter: Baguette with our Special Pesto Butter

Entree to share: Prawn & Avocado Salad, Carrot Vinaigrette, Tobiko, Nori & Wagyu Tartare, Soft Eggs & Anchovy Toast

Mains: Braised Beef Cheeks with Carrot Puree and Red Wine & Miso OU
Pan Seared Mt Cook Saiko Salmon Belly

Dessert to share: Crème brûlée, & Chocolate Fondant, Caramelized Banana, Berry Coulis with Vanilla Ice Cream

Le Pub will have its normal menu but is offering a free bottle of sparkling wine for reservations made online.

Le Trader – is doing 5 courses for $95 per person:

  1. Scallop & squid with squid ink puree and soy vinaigrette
  2. Mushrooms & enoki chips with white béchamel sauce & rice
  3. Grilled salmon, green prawn, mussels & scallop tortellini with rouille & saffron foam
  4. Roasted duck breast, beetroot puree, fig & brie wrapped in prosciutto with red wine fig jus
  5. Chocolate fondant & chou ice cream with strawberry puree.

Le Village is doing a 5 course menu for $65 per person or $100 each with matching wines.

Macleay Street Bistro for $100 you can choose 3 courses from their A la carte menu or their 1970’s Classics menu with a glass of Pol Roger on arrival.

Rosé Royale is putting on a 5 course dégustation menu with 5 matching rosés. $150 for two people. From 18h30. You must book.

St Claude’s will have their usual menu.
