A major French festival in Adelaide is coming to life this weekend as Festival Plaza transforms into a vibrant celebration of French food, wine, music, and culture. Bastille Festival Adelaide will fill Festival Plaza with French festivities from Friday to Sunday, marking the return of large-scale French festivities to the city after several quiet years.
The festival is brought to Adelaide by the team behind the popular Raclette Igloo Experience and Sydney’s massive Bastille Festival in The Rocks. Think of it as a wintery escape to France, right in the heart of Adelaide.
We shared the initial announcement earlier this year, and now that it’s almost here, we’re excited to bring you more juicy details—especially about the delicious food, flowing wine, and free entertainment. And yes, entry is completely FREE!
Free French entertainment all weekend
We’re long-time fans of Louise Blackwell and the French Set (read our review), and lucky for Adelaide, they’ll be performing not once, but twice across the weekend. Expect colourful sounds and contagious energy when Mélange Latino’s Sunitra and band perform their set bringing a sunny Latin vibe to wintery Adelaide.
Saturday night is party night with DJ Benny Max, aka the Ambianceur, that you may remember from his cheeky French swearing classes, spinning French tunes to get you moving.
You’ll also catch other talented acts across the weekend, including Tiffany Gaze, who mesmerised audiences at Ayers House during Adelaide Fringe. Don’t miss a beat at this French festival in Adelaide. See the full entertainment program here.
