Bastille Festival Adelaide: a free 3 day French festival is coming to Adelaide for the first time

Bastille Festival Adelaide
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Bastille Festival, Sydney’s biggest food, wine and art celebration of all things French, is taking the festival outside of Sydney for the first time and has chosen to host Bastille Festival Adelaide!

Bastille Festival Adelaide

While the Bastille Festival usually takes over The Rocks in Sydney for 4 days over the Bastille Day weekend in July, the Bastille Festival Adelaide edition will happen earlier: on the last weekend in May. Adelaide’s Festival Plaza will be transformed into a bustling French-inspired village. The festival is organised by the same team who brought the Raclette Igloo Experience to Adelaide last year.

WHY ADELAIDE?

Festival Founder and Director Vincent Hernandez says that “Bastille Festival finding its second home in Adelaide is no coincidence… With its passion for European living, its taste for exceptional wines and flavours, and its vibrant appreciation for the arts, Adelaide embodies the spirit of Bastille. We’re igniting that legacy, freedom, boldness, and pure joy through a thrilling fusion of food, wine, and art, perfectly matched to this city’s lively soul. Festival Plaza, with its dynamic energy and beating heart, is the ideal canvas for this May spectacle I hold so dear”.

FOOD AT BASTILLE FESTIVAL ADELAIDE

There will be more than 30 mouth-watering food stalls ensuring you can feast from le petit dejeuner (breakfast) to le diner. A warming raclette will heat up this autumnal festival, perfectly golden crêpes will transport you to Brittany, patisseries will whisk you to a French bakery.
