French festivals go regional in New South Wales and Victoria this weekend

The end of year French festivals have officially begun: Le Festival Français takes over Geelong and Newcastle sees its first Twilight in Paris French market this weekend. Two regional centres get a taste of France in the first of the French markets as we approach the end of the year. Celebrate all things French with exquisite art, tantalising cuisine and rich culture. Read on to find out about these two fabulous French events.

Le Festival Français takes over Geelong

This two-day weekend event is proudly presented by the Alliance Française de Geelong in partnership with the National Trust Australia (Victoria). A true celebration of all things French, expect plenty of French stallholders selling French gourmet products, clothing, jewellery, handmade bags and baskets, silk scarves, second-hand books, Eiffel Towers, soaps, antiques and much much more.

 

Food wise you can visit the France at Home store to buy all your French supermarket products, or other stallholders selling Australian made organic cheeses, French charcuterie, gourmet brioche, savoury galettes, raclette, sweet treats, and more.

There will also be plenty of French wine, ciders and champagne available to pair with your delectable French foods.

 

There is also plenty to keep you entertained with a range of live and roving performances as well as a dedicated kids’ zone, face painting and fashion parades. Explore the series of free special presentations, ranging from exploring the influence of French cinema to discovering the secrets of Cognac and a chat with author and playwright Jayne Tuttle

Twilight in Paris brings a taste of France to Newcastle

The team behind the Bastille Market and Sydney’s Le Marché Willoughby are holding their 4th Newcastle event, but their first Twilight in Paris festival in Newcastle.

Expect 50 stalls including artisans selling their wares so you can get a head start on your Christmas shopping. Think jewellery, French baskets, French table cloths and tea towel, Breton raincoats, So French So Chic clothes. Plus no French festival would be without French food and Twilight in Paris Newcastle has plenty of that on offer. Plus kids aren’t forgotten – there will be music, face-painting and fairy floss for them.
