INDOCHINE CENTRAL TOUR: your chance to see the group live in Australia

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The INDOCHINE CENTRAL TOUR concert film will be shown at the IMAX cinema in Melbourne. There are only 4 cities in the world, outside of France, that will show the film – London, Amsterdam, Brussels and Melbourne! It is thanks to the initiative of Serge Thomann, a Frenchman in Melbourne, that this screening was possible. We owe him our thanks for bringing this film to Australia.

As you no doubt know, Indochine is the most popular French band. Their first songs L’Aventurier and 3e sexe came out in 1982. Over their 40 year career, Indochine has released:

  • 13 studio albums
  • 11 live albums
  • 7 compilation albums
  • 15 video albums
  • 66 singles!

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band Indochine, the INDOCHINE CENTRAL TOUR, which played to full houses in 6 stadiums in France, was an anthology tour. By the end of its tour, France’s most popular band had gathered more than 417,000 spectators, setting records for attendance among all events organised in each of the stadiums (sports and concerts combined).

The CENTRAL TOUR concert was filmed at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon on June 25 in its entirety for IMAX with 22 IMAX-certified digital cameras, becoming the first concert in the world to be filmed live and broadcast in cinemas with this process as part of the “Filmed for IMAX” program.

Thanks to IMAX certified digital camera technology and advanced post-production work, brightness, colorimetry and contrast are sublimated for unparalleled results of realism and precision on the big screen. The sound is powerful and vibrant, and is delivered with the utmost precision.

The immensity of the IMAX screens guarantees a total immersive experience that matches the emblematic scenography of this tour: a central tower 45 meters high and the largest video screen ever used for a live concert (2500 m2 / 1400 LED panels)!

The INDOCHINE CENTRAL TOUR concert film will be screened once and for one night only at the IMAX cinema in Melbourne on Thursday, November 24 at 8:30 pm.
