Swiss Club of South Australia
Swiss National Day celebration – 3 August 2019
Swiss Club SA promises you an unforgettable night full of gooey cheese, hot potatoes, gluhwein, a traditional lantern parade and bonfire.
For young, old and everyone in between. This event is child friendly but last year the 20 year olds were laughing alongside 90 year olds and the 30 year olds eating sausages with 60 year olds so don’t be shy, come and see what all the fuss is about.
When: Saturday 3 August 2019
Time: 4pm arrival, food served from 5pm, lantern parade will start once it gets dark.
Where: Aldgate Oval Hall, 18 Churinga Rd, Aldgate (keep an eye out for the Swiss flags)
What: bring your own drinks and a Swiss salad or dessert to share. Please bring your own cutlery, glassware and crockery. Special enamel mugs will be available for purchase.
Pricing: To make for a smooth evening with minimal line-ups tickets need to be pre-purchased by 27 July.

What’s included: The ticket price gets you raclette (melted cheese on potatoes with condiments) and traditional sausages. Plus salads, desserts, water, tea and coffee.
What else should you know?
- A special address by our Consulate of Switzerland in Adelaide, Patrick Wille
- National anthem moment (read about the history of the anthem here)
- A game or two with prizes
- Lantern parade around the oval (we have some spare lampions but bring your own if you have a favourite)
- A bonfire to keep you toasty (bring your own marshmallows and roasting sticks)
- There is parking on site (limited) but more parking on Churinga Road. If you need a lift get in touch so we can connect you with another member.
We’re striving for a waste free event so please bring your own plates and cutlery to avoid single use rubbish at the end of the night.

As always, the Swiss Club of Victoria has several events planned to celebrate Swiss National Day.

Come along to the annual Lantern Parade along the Yarra River back to the Swiss Club to celebrate Swiss National Day 2019.
Meet at Federation Square at 6 pm.

The Swiss Club of WA is having its Swiss National Day 2019 celebration on 3 August 2019.
On the menu is: Heisse Fleischchäs and Heisse Schinke (supplied by the club’s trusted Swiss Butcher); salads prepared by the Club President: potato, celeriac (if available, otherwise beetroot), carrot and green salads.
You are required to bring a contribution to a fantastic Dessert Buffet.
The Alphorn Players will play for and the Swiss National Anthem will be played for a sing-along.
The cost (which is to be paid at the event in cash) is as follows:

Unfortunately, the Swiss Club of NSW is not hosting a National Day event this year but encourages you to take part in the event organised by the Swiss Yodelers of Sydney (details below).

Swiss Yodelers of Sydney
Swiss National Day Picnic, 28 July 10:30am – 5:30pm
The Swiss Yodelers of Sydney will host the annual Swiss National Day 2019 Picnic at Castle Hill Showground.
There will be a BBQ and drinks (Please no BYO) with Swiss meats and beverages available, including: Bratwurst, Cervelats and Fleischkäse; soft drinks, wine, beer, schnapps, coffee and tea.
In addition, there will be a huge variety of stalls selling Swiss delicacies and products and many attractions for the kiddies, such as rides, a petting zoo and bottle fishing. There will also be a silent auction with fantastic prizes on offer and Swiss lampions for sale.
