Canada Day 2019 is on 1 July and there are a number of celebrations around Australia for it with some kicking off this weekend.

ADELAIDE

Australia Canada Association (SA) – Sunday 30 June

The Australia Canada Association (SA) invites you to join it in celebrating Canada Day 2019 at the Cathedral Hotel in North Adelaide on Sunday 30 June from 12pm to 3pm.

.

This is a family-friendly event with food available at the bar, including Poutine, Perogies and Canadian beer. And due to popular demand, Nanaimo Bars and Butter Tarts will again be on sale!

Port Burger – Sunday 30 June

In honour of our friendly Northerners birthday July 1st, Port Burger is throwing down a shindig to celebrate the red and white on Sunday 30 June.

 

So put on a toque, grab your knapsack and come grab a Caesar and Poutine. Port Burger will bring the two-four to help you show off your Molson Muscle.

 

Expect some classic Canadian tunes, a bit of The Hip, Bare Naked Ladies, and Neil Young to name a few.

BRISBANE

Saccharomyces Beer Café – Sunday 30 June

Saccharomyces Beer Café is celebrating Canada Day all day on Sunday 30 June starting with a boozy brunch from 9:30am.

BREAKFAST

Pancake stack loaded up with crispy maple bacon, fried eggs, whipped butter and drowned in more maple syrup served with a caesar!

 

Made with authentic imported Canadian Clamato Juice, the Saccharomyces Beer Café’s Caesar is pimped out with a fried chicken and bacon wrapped jalapeno skewer. Pretty much the most Canadian way to start the day!

The Gold Coast Canadians Club is holding its Canada Day celebrations at 11:30am on Sunday 30 June at The Loose Moose Tap & Grill House in Broadbeach.

 

 

MELBOURNE

Canada Club of Victoria – Sunday 30 June

The Canada Club of Victoria is hosting a Canada Day Festival on Sunday 30 June from 1pm-5pm at Davies Reserve in Oakleigh South.

 

Attendees can participate in street hockey & card tournaments, while listening to some great Canadian music and meeting fellow Canadians around a campfire cookout, complete with roasted hot dogs and ‘smores!

Canadian Club of WA – 30 June

The Canadian Club of WA has reserved an undercover area at the Aviary Rooftop Bar on Sunday June 30 from 1 to 5 pm. The Aviary throws a Canada Day party complete with a band and Canadian food- poutine, hotdogs, chicken wings etc.

 

Entrance to the Aviary is free but anyone who has purchased or renewed a Canadian Club membership ($35 per couple/family, $25 single) will receive a complimentary Caesar upon arrival. You buy your own food and drinks during the event.

Network Canada – Saturday 29 June

Network Canada claim to hold the largest Canada Day celebration in the world outside of Canada.

 

This year it will be held on Saturday 29 June from 2pm at the Greenwood Hotel in Sydney.

 

They will have 50 tonnes of snow, over $15k in prizes, a free street hockey tournament, trivia comps and game shows, Canadian food & drinks and lots more.

 

Food includes REAL POUTINE, PEROGIES, FATBOY BURGERS, CHILLI DOGS, WINGS, BROOKLYN BOY CINNAMON BUNS and other Canadian favourites. There will also be $10 CAESARS!!

 

There is a small cost and it depends on how you dress and what time you come.

Wayward Brewing Company – 29 June

Canada Day at Wayward is arguably its biggest party of the year. Its owners, Pete and Yvette, hail from the land of the maple leaf and they will be kicking the celebrations up a notch as they throw them the ultimate day session bash from 10am on Saturday 29 June.

 

For the first time, they will be knocking up Micheladas with a Canadian twist (read: clamato juice)!

 

Pigout Aus will be in the house with a special Canada day menu – their maple bacon burger and poutine menu sells out FAST each year and you’re gonna want to try it.

 

Themed dress up is encouraged, and Justin Trudeau will once again be hanging out at the special photo booth set-up for photo ops.

 

They will live music from the awesome Rowan and Friends, and you can expect a lot of Bare Naked Ladies and RUSH coming through the speakers in between sets.
