The weekend celebration of Tasmanian sparkling wine kicks off with dinners at Josef Chromy Wines and at Timbre on Friday night (both sold out) before broader tasting events over the next two days.

Saturday at Effervescence Tasmania sees The Grand Tasting at Josef Chromy Wines. For $30 pp you will be able to taste over 50 cuvees from 15 of Tasmania’s best sparkling wine houses. There are also 2 masterclasses to take part in (tickets required) including a Tasmanian Sparkling Masterclass and an International Sparkling Masterclass.

But the festivities don’t end at the end of The Grand Tasting. Bubbles & Beats celebrates disco so you can dance the evening away!

Sunday morning at Effervescence Tasmania kicks off with stretching and mindfulness rewarded by mimosas and canapes with Mimosa Yoga again at Josef Chromy Wines. Later that day, Josef Chromy Wines will host Grapes of Mirth: a line-up of Australian comedians to entertain you Sunday afternoon as you sip on sparkling wine.

A few other wineries are hosting their own events as part of Effervescence Tasmania’s Sunday program. Firstly, Clover Hill Wines is hosting a Sensory Aromatic Masterclass. It will take you on an exploration of the unique taste and aromas of the Clover Hill wine range. Secondly, the Ridge North Lilydale invites you to a Tour de Terroir. Start with panoramic views followed by a visit to the cellar door for a tasting platter and vintage sparkling. And finally, well-known Tasmanian sparkling wine maker, Arras, will host Tasting & Tours at two hourly intervals throughout Sunday.
