Sydney Festival 2021 starts today and runs until 26 January. Owing to COVID-19 and restrictions on international arrivals, the Sydney Festival does not have any international acts coming to perform. However, that does not mean that there aren’t ways to get your French fix at Sydney Festival 2021.

French-Australian violinist Veronique Serret together with didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton come together again in Heartland. Traditional songlines are blended with modern storytelling including poetry from Aunty Delmae Barton. Heartland invites you to landscape, culture, language and Country.

A provoking dance work created in extraordinary times which explores ageing, environmental destruction, speculative paths to human survival.
The French link? Irish-Breton actor Olwen Fouéré who joins Australian stage icons Paul Capsis and Pamela Rabe and 13 young performers in an intergenerational conversation.
THE [UNCERTAIN] FOUR SEASONS – 12-13 JANUARY $25 + BF

This project is introduced by Australian of French descent, Damon Gameau who you may know for his Sugar film and the documentary 2040.
The performance harnesses climate prediction data to reimagine Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in an ambitious multimedia collaboration between Australian composers, designers, innovators and scientists.
