The Bubbles Festival, organised by The Bubbles Review, kicks off its 5 weekend tour of Australia in Melbourne this weekend followed by Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney.
The Bubbles Review, organisers of The Bubbles Festival, is a multi-award-winning blog and website devoted to the enjoyment of drinking champagne and sparkling wine. Launched in October 2016, The Bubbles Review shares information on the people, history, tasting, techniques of making champagne and sparkling wine and creates events and tours so that our followers can join us and indulge.
The inaugural Bubbles Festival was held in Melbourne in April 2017, and a follow-up event in October 2017. Very positive feedback resulted, with patrons giving the event 5 stars.
Patrons purchase a ticket for a two-hour session which includes a chance to meet and engage with producers and distributors of sparkling wine and champagne, and enjoy bubbly tastings, paired with canapés, all at one stylish event.
While just what you’re tasting will only be revealed on the day, with some clues given via social media in the lead-up, you can be assured that you will be tasting a mix of Aussie sparklings as well as at least one champagne and if you’re in Brisbane, even some cider! Some locations will also have Italian sparklings on the tasting list.
At The Bubbles Festival, there will be brands you may not have heard of prior, with Natalie Pickett, founder of The Bubbles Review saying:
I like to promote the idea of new discoveries, not so much big-name brands, but delightful sparklings, that you may not have tasted before. Some of the Aussie sparklings are only available at Cellar Door or direct with the wineries.
Natalie Pickett will give an introduction on tastings. A RIEDEL Champagne tasting glass is given to each attendee, and 10 or more tastings of sparkling wine are provided along with tasting notes.
