5 wine events to attend at Good Food & Wine Sydney this weekend!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Good Food and Wine Sydney is on this weekend from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June. There are 17 events with a French theme that we think you should attend!

We are letting you know about them in separate articles this week on the subjects of champagne, wine, cheese and cooking skills. In this article, wine events!

You had me at Chardonnay (Sunday)

Taste a range of Chardonnay wines in this free wine tasting masterclass at the Riedel Drinks Lab at Good Food & Wine Sydney.

All the wines will be from exhibitors at the show, so you’ll be able to talk to the producers directly, or buy a bottle to take home!

The Chardonnay/Cabernet Comeback (Saturday)

Like shoulder pads and big hair, Chardonnay and Cabernet went out in the 90s.

But they’ve made an incredible comeback, with modern Chardonnay being fresh, elegant and complex, while Cabernet’s the cool kid in town. Taste some of Australia’s best examples and get into the new groove.

Que syrah, Shiraz (Saturday)

Taste a range of Shiraz wines in this free wine tasting masterclass at the Riedel Drinks Lab.

All the wines will be from exhibitors at the show, so you’ll be able to talk to the producers directly, or buy a bottle to take home!

Shiraz sizzle (Fri, Sat)

Like vegemite on toast and a meat pie with tomato sauce, Shiraz and a sausage sizzle is an iconic Australian match.

So come along and try some cracker Aussie Shiraz paired perfectly with gourmet snags. It’ll be a bonza barbeque and bevvie bash.

Stop and smell the rosé (Fri and Sat)

Taste a range of rosé wines in this free wine tasting masterclass at the Riedel Drinks Lab.

All the wines will be from exhibitors at the show, so you’ll be able to talk to the producers directly, or buy a bottle to take home!
