The French crepe day, La Chandeleur, is this Friday 2 February. Below is a list of places to get your crepe fix! What’s your favourite crepe filling?
ADELAIDE
ADELAIDE ACCUEIL is holding an event for La Chandeleur in Thebarton.
LA LORIENTAISE will have its usual crepe and galette offerings and is open from 8am to 4pm.
LE CARPE DIEM is offering a special deal for the day: $15 for a savoury buckwheat galette and a sweet crepe. You can choose from a large selection from the menu. Open from 8am to 10am.
PARIS PLAGE like their other business, Le Carpe Diem, will also offer a special deal for the day: $15 for a savoury buckwheat galette and a sweet crepe. You can choose from a large selection from the menu. Open from 8am to 5pm.
BRISBANE
LE PETIT PARIS will be doing buckwheat galettes as well as buckwheat vegan galettes for the day. Open from 9am to 4pm.
MISS CLAUDE’S – Eat Street, Northshore – will have a special crepe for the day – details not available at the time of publication.
TAMM HA TAMM FRENCH CREPERIE is having a crepe party. For $25 you will get a drink (coffee, cold drink or small smoothie) + unlimited sweet crepes from their menu (salted butter caramel, dark chocolate, seasonal fruits, lemon and sugar, apple/pear compote and jam. Possible extras: ice cream and whipped cream). You need to book in advance either via the facebook page or by telephone. In addition, they will have plain crepes to take away for $3 each (24 hour notice pre-orders required).
CANBERRA
BREIZH CAFE will have their usual galettes and crepes from 8am to 4pm.
MELBOURNE
BAR SUR LOUP will be doing crepes with speculoos or raspberry filling for our readers on the day of La Chandeleur (2 February). Otherwise, today, Monday 30 January, they are offering 2 nutella crepes for the price of 1. This offer is only available from 8am to 3pm.
ROULE GALETTE will have their usual galette and crepe selection. They are open from 7:30am to 9:30pm.
PERTH
LA MAISON DE FRANCE is holding a Crepe Night for La Chandeleur on Friday 9 February. It’s free but RSVP is a must.
PANCAKES AT CARILLON will have their usual crepes and galettes. As the name suggests they also do pancakes.
PANCAKE TALK font des crepes tous les jours. Ouvert de 8h a 18h30 le 2 fevrier.
SYDNEY
BITTON GOURMET, Alexandria will have their every day crepes. Open from 7am to 9pm.
BONJOUR CAFÉ will have a special $27 gourmet lunch for La Chandeleur which includes: a Savoury Crepe with Chicken breast marinated into a bechamel sauce mixed with veggies & mozzarella cheese plus a Sweet Crepe: strawberries, bananas, nutella, whipped cream & vanilla ice cream and a glass of French wine from a selection of wines on the menu.
FOUR FROGS CREPERIE – will have their every day menu of crepes and galettes. They are open at Mosman from 7am to 9pm, Randwick from 11am til late and Circular Quay from 7am til late.
GOURMANDISE DE PARIS, PYRMONT will have their usual crepes on offer. Open from 7:30am to 9pm.
