C’est la Vie festival will see Brisbane’s riverside transformed into summer along the Seine in Paris at Riverlife this month. Despite the current situation, Australia’s largest French Festival – Le Festival – will still be back to celebrate their 10th anniversary in style, with C’est la vie.
Rather than a festival over a single weekend, C’est la Vie is spread out over 4 weekends in October and November 2020 to bring together the familiar elements of the Le Festival and to comply with COVID-19 gathering guidelines.
C’est la Vie starts next weekend with several Masterclasses. Following weekends will see guests enjoy wine and cheese nights, VIP champagne breakfasts, and will close out with a series of cultural conferences.
Le Festival Director Betty Moinet said that the present circumstances are not entirely a deal-breaker and if there remains an opportunity to organise something then it should be taken.
She said: “France chose the rooster for an emblem as it is the only animal capable of ‘singing with its feet in the mud’, meaning that in spite of the less than ideal situation, we can and we will still find a way to bring our community together to celebrate.”
