This May and June, the bubbles are back as The Bubbles Festival 2025 is set to sparkle its way across five Australian capitals, inviting lovers of all things fizz to indulge in an effervescent celebration of champagne and sparkling wine.
It’s again organised by Natalie Pickett of The Bubbles Review, the multi-award-winning blog and website devoted to the enjoyment of drinking champagne and sparkling wine. It shares information on the people, history, tasting, techniques of making champagne and sparkling wine and creates courses, events and tours so that their followers can join in and indulge.
Since 2021, The Bubbles Festival has become a national affair, travelling to several Australian capitals. The Bubbles Festival 2025 will visit Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. It all starts on 3 May in Melbourne so you can vote early, then let your election worries fizz away at The Bubbles Festival.
Each 2 hour session will be introduced by Pickett, who will share some tasting tips, and will offer at least 10 tastings of sparkling wines from a variety of producers. You will be provided with tasting notes with space for you to write down your own thoughts on the bubbles you taste. You can also order the sparkling wines on the day with some producers proposing special offers.
We can’t reveal exactly which sparkling wines or champagnes you’ll be sipping—each city’s line-up is a closely guarded secret. But if previous years are anything to go by, you’re in for a treat. Past festivals have featured everything from Champagne Duval-Leroy and the elegant Collet range to Howard Vineyard’s Adelaide Hills pinot noir chardonnay, Golding’s sparkling shiraz, and even organic Italian prosecco—just to name a few.
A curated selection of canapés will be served throughout the duration of each session, highlighting the pairing of the sparkling wines with food.
You won’t just go home on a bubbly buzz, you will also get to keep your RIEDEL Crystal Champagne glass (or similar valued at $45) that you have used for the tastings. And as always, The Bubbles Festival 2025 will have Bubbly giveaways.
